Premier Ranj Pillai said he had 鈥渢he privilege鈥� of meeting Monday with Thomas Codrington, the United Kingdom Consul General, as part of the diplomat鈥檚 visit to the Yukon.

鈥淒uring our conversation, I highlighted key priority areas for the Government of Yukon, including infrastructure to support our mining sector, clean and secure energy, and our commitment to working in partnership with Yukon First Nations,鈥濃�圥illai said Tuesday.
鈥淭hese initiatives align with key priorities of the United Kingdom such as critical minerals, trade, clean technology, science and innovation.
鈥淎dditionally, our discussion on cultural diplomacy, education initiatives and critical minerals reflected our shared values of reconciliation and environmental stewardship.鈥�
The ongoing engagement, Pillai added, 鈥渋s not only essential for fostering positive relations but also for driving sustainable development and addressing global challenges collaboratively.鈥�
