Winning ticket was bought in Yukon
A Saskatoon woman has won $1 million on a Lotto 6/49 ticket purchased in Watson Lake.
A Saskatoon woman has won $1 million on a Lotto 6/49 ticket purchased in Watson Lake.
Mary Jane Pilz bought her ticket hoping to win a couple of thousand dollars or more. The draw was made Feb.10.
鈥淚 checked the ticket just before starting my shift,鈥� Pilz said Monday.
鈥淚 looked at my co-worker and said, 鈥榳hat does this say? $10,000? $100,000?鈥�
鈥淪uddenly it clicked that it was $1 million 鈥� oh, my God!
鈥淲e started dancing around the room. It was a precious moment,鈥� Pilz added.
鈥淚 would have been happy if I had won $10,000, but I鈥檒l take a million 鈥� I love Lotto 6/49!鈥�
The new winner, who works in Watson Lake, Yukon, said she has a few ideas for her windfall, starting with helping her family.
鈥淲ell, first things first: my husband is going to retire!鈥� she said.
鈥淎nd our children are in university; I鈥檒l give some money to help them out.鈥�
Pilz said she and her husband also plan to visit family members in the Philippines.
鈥淢y husband has never been to the Philippines,鈥� she said.
鈥淚鈥檓 so happy to be able to show him where I鈥檓 from and introduce him to my family.鈥�
Pilz picked up her winning ticket at the Watson Lake Tags store.
