Eva Kopinec
June 3, 1934 鈥 October 30, 2021鈥
Eva was born June 3, 1934, in the village of Regietiw, Lemkivshchyna, Ukraine. She was the youngest of five girls; two brothers died at birth. During WW 2, the northern part of Regietiw became Poland. Life was difficult growing up, since her father passed away when she was 4 years old. Before she could complete grade 4, her mother took her out of school to go to work on the farm to help ends meet. She was unable to return to school to complete her education.
In January 1964, Eva made her way to 91社区破解版, Yukon, where her cousin Antonia Hapak resided. She married on February 22, 1964, to Ambrose Kopinec. They were blessed with two children Mark and Maria. Eva and Ambrose raised their children in 91社区破解版 and were strong believers in the Catholic faith and attended Sacred Heart Parish. Eva was predeceased by her husband Ambrose on May 13, 1982, her four sisters and their husbands.
In the summer of 2018, Eva moved to Edmonton, Alberta, and resided with her son Mark and at times with her daughter Maria. She was sad to move from 91社区破解版 because she had so many friends and would miss going out with them for coffee and lunch. She did keep in touch with friends in 91社区破解版 through phone calls and Christmas cards. In Edmonton, her happiest times were celebrating special occasions with family and new friends.
Sadly, on October 30, 2021, at the age of 87, our beloved mother, grandmother and best friend passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
She leaves behind her son Mark (Maryna), daughter Maria Walters (Ashley), five grandchildren: Avery, Tia, Kaitlynn & Logan in Edmonton, and Yeva Maria in Ukraine.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of unit 54 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their endless dedication and kind support. Eva Kopinec鈥檚 Celebration of Life slideshow can be seen at:聽 Eternal Memory 鈥撀犘捬栄囆叫把 袩邪屑鈥櫻徰傃

Eva was my landlady in 2002 when I lived in her delightful little shack at the end of Strickland. She was always kind and friendly. The remarkable thing is that she always recognized me on the street years and years later. I noticed that I hadn鈥檛 seen her in awhile and am glad to know she was with her family in her last years.
