The 91社区破解版 Cross Country Ski Club held their Spring Nordic Festival at Mount Mac Sunday in very warm temperatures.
According to 91社区破解版 Cross Country Ski Club manager Ben Poudou, the festival is intended to celebrate spring and nordic sports.
There was a snowshoe tour, as well as fat biking, kicksledding, and curling.
Food, a beer garden and music were all part of the day鈥檚 entertainment.
Nineteen teams took part in a relay that involved fat biking, kick-sledding, shooting with laser rifles, and finishing off with skiing.
Teams 6, 8 11 and 15 made it into the relay final.
Team 11 won the final, with Hudson Lucier skiing across the finish line first.
Al Lucier said, 鈥淚t was tough competition out there. Everybody worked hard in the corners and we came out well. Everybody pulled it together. I think it was a pretty good effort by everybody.鈥
Jan Downing and Stephen Horton were the other members of the team.
Hudson Lucier said it was a good race.
鈥淭he snow was holding up, even though it was super-warm, and that鈥檚 awesome, because it鈥檚 not easy to get snow to hold together at 10 degrees (Celsius). It was great. And the club did a great job putting it on. Great event.鈥
Al added, 鈥淚t鈥檚 great to bring out the community. It鈥檚 great to see people who are new to the sport, old to the sport, just coming out and enjoying a great day in the sunshine. It鈥檚 fabulous to be a part of the community.鈥
The event finished off with a soap box race, featuring many creative sleds sliding down a hill in the stadium.
